I was born in New Jersey and lived there until I was ten years old. After that, I moved to Alabama and lived there until I finished University. I graduated from Auburn University in 2005 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Spanish. I have also lived in Nashville, Tennesee and Tampa, Florida. I first came to Japan for a vacation in 2005, and moved here six months later.

In my free time, I enjoy watching movies and reading books. I also enjoy travelling. In the future, I hope to visit Bali and Australia. In the meantime, I am enjoying teaching English in Japan and I am looking forward to seeing many students at Beat'n Box. I will do my best to provide fun and educational lessons to help you improve your English. Let's study English together!

１３歳の時に初めて東京に来てとても気に入ったので又大学の時に東京に来ました。大学卒業後ニューヨークに移り住みファッション業界で働きそしてDJも始めました。今回東京に来るのは三度目で私にとって一番長い滞在になります。私は東京の食べ物はもちろん大好きですが鉄道は一番気に入ってます！

I first visited Tokyo when I was 13 and really liked it so I came back again during college to finish my degree in Tokyo. After college I moved to New York City where I worked in fashion and started to DJ. This is my third visit to Tokyo and it is my longest stay, so far. Tokyo has an amazing train system, which I find to be my favorite thing about the city, (besides the delicious food, ofcourse).

I enjoy speaking to students about many topics and interests! Food, music, travel and cultural differences are all interesting topics that are often discussed in my lessons.

I try to help people not only learn English, but also try to boost their confidence, because having confidence in yourself is a very important factor in learning any language! When I first started singing, I sang in a very small voice because I had no confidence in myself, but as I began to gain more and more confidence in myself, I began to sing in a louder, stronger, and more powerful voice! I originally came to Japan to study aikido and a Japanese dance form called butoh. In the mid-1990s I co-founded a multimedia performance collective called 66b (from the Kwaidan story Rokuro-kubi). We have created performances and installations in Japan and Asia, Australia, the US and Europe. Traditional Japanese notions of space and beauty, for example, ma, wabi sabi and shibui, have influenced my dance and art. In my spare time, I am also a yoga and movement instructor. In my art and my work as a teacher, I find both the verbal and non-verbal to be essential components of human expression. Communication involves all our senses and is a combination of words and sounds, gestures and facial expressions, intentions and ideas.

I was born in London and came to Japan in August 2010 to experience Japanese culture. I became qualified to teach English while studying Computer Science at the University of London and taught English privately to Japanese people for a year. I had never been Asia before, living in Japan was my first trip.

When I have free time I like to drink with friends, play darts and billiards, I love to wonder around Tokyo looking for interesting sights or places to eat.

I like to discuss grammar and the differences between English and Japanese. I think it helps us understand the nuances of the language.
